Lobsters, it’s said, are indiscriminate scavengers, vile bottom feeders in the Gulf of Maine. Evidently, they will even eat French fries deep in the heart of Texas, offered by a wannabe Mainiac who, due to the virus, can’t get here from there.

At 22 months old, Edie doesn’t know any of this. She’s in that blissful bubble called childhood where all’s right with the world and all creatures great and small are as lovable and deserving of care and snacks as her Snoopy.
