Harpo nee Sunbeam was born in Georgia. He was just four days old when he was rescued, and at three months he was transported to Maine. Four months later, we gave him his first-ever home. The loss of our Jerry (featured in the Winter 20 ZEST) created a cat-shaped hole in our home, and Harpo has admirably filled it. He jumps, climbs, runs amok, bites feet and knocks over everything in his path, his yellow eyes gleaming with mischief and curiosity, then snuggles down on his favorite blanket next
to his somewhat reluctant mentor, Hank. Everyday we learn more about Harpo—he’s a snuggler, he’s a mouse smuggler, a stealer of socks, a sideways jumper and a book chewer, and we couldn’t be happier to call him ours.
